DUBLIN — A 10-year-old boy riding his bicycle was hospitalized Wednesday after being hit by a car, police said.
The collision happened about 8:05 a.m. Wednesday on Davona Drive near Chatam Street, according to a statement from Dublin police Capt. Miguel Campos. The vehicle that hit the boy was going east on Davona Drive, and the boy was riding his bike west, Campos said.
An ambulance rushed the boy to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland with what Campos described as “significant injuries.” Authorities did not have an update on the boy’s condition early Thursday.
Police said they still were trying to determine what caused the crash to happen.
The driver of the unspecified vehicle that hit the boy stayed at the scene and spoke with police, Campos said. He added that drugs and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the collision.
